I know what you mean, but friendly faces are the best thing for a happy and speedy recovery. It won't hurt him to come along and say hello, get a few hugs (ok maybe CB hugs would be a bad idea....) and lift his spirits a bit.
The very worst part of recovery is the boredom.
EDIT: I am aware I'm not aware (how ridic that even makes sense) of how bad bruce's injuries were, but surely the man is mature enough to decide whether he can cope with a short social visit or not?
