  • I think it's more akin to charging for a waste product, like horse shit. It has some value to some people, if you run a giant farm you could probably charge for it in bulk to someone else who needs it in bulk. If you have one pony you might give that shit to the guy on the allotment nearby, as it's far too low value as a one off to trade. If that allotment guy flogs his prize turnips for a small profit at a market then I'd likely say it's the time he put into growing that adds most value.
