Went to Bird on Sunday, new one on Kingsland Rd, TOO TOO slick, looks really expensively done, not in a good way IMO, I don't mean that I want Meatliqor (ugh), but the Red Dog sandwich place would be a good example of smart without feeling like an IKEA showroom. Food was ridic, well, what I had was, massive lumps of fried chicken with cheese and bacon in between two waffles. Chicken was good but batter was greasy and not as nice as Chicken Cottage. The real revelation was the waffles, I've only ever had dry, cardboardy supermarket ones, or light, tasteless gofres in Spain, these was dense, moist and batter-y, can't wait to have more fresh waffles.
Will go back for this ridiculous plate of carbs, but probably on my own because I'm a naughty naughty glutton.
