Aha....but I have ridden an XS650. Hated everything about it except the sound. To be honest the only old bikes I look back fondly on have been two strokes, though I admit I was certainly prejudiced by a youthful prerogative that demanded SPEED.
BQ - The V7 special is a great looking bike, not absurdly large and heavy by the standards of other new-wavey retro things. I hate shaft drive though and probably couldn't sanction only 50hp from something made in 2014...
All those air-cooled CBs are going for silly cash here now and I really didn't like them first time round. 400/4s are really pretty little bikes but not my thing....I probably only like the idea of the Triumph as I've never ridden one! :)

The only XS650 worth having was the XS2. The others bent in the middle and yes the sound is awesome, especially on inverse megas!
As for 2-smokes the air-cooled RDs were the business, I had a 125 and a 250 (then later on a 350LC) but always lusted after an RD400 :)

50 ponies is crap for something as heavy as a V7. Plus I'd be worried about finish on a modern Guzzi, rust and rot heaven. Pretty for a fortnight.

Yeah I never had an aircooled RD. My mate had a GT250x7 for a bit that was similarly fun. An RD400 would be nice but they're pricey here too and probably a bit tough not to ride like a twat....:)
I've got a couple of mates here with old brit bikes - will have to have to borrow something and take it for a spin!

Playing in the canyons on Saturday and a 300 mile round trip up to Buellton in wine country yesterday has given me wobbly legs. Feels like I've just done my first rodeo....
Great So-cal motorcycling weekend though!

At work there is an underground carpark and it seems to have an abonded vespa there. It was last taxed in 2012 and so not ridden for a looong time judging by the dust on it. Any ideas if possible to claim it?

cheers CT :)
cost me £1300 to test them out though :(

if they were made to pay that £1300 they would think twice before wasting the courts time in future, maybe.

Time to celebrate. That will pay for itself in not having sky high insurance premiums in the future. -

indeed! cheers!

TTT Motorcycles on the corner of Cambridge Heath and Old Bethnal Green Roads appears to be having some kind of party tonight, no doubt a grand opening of their new Royal Enfield showroom and spanking new building.
They still don't appear to have a website though.

You can apply for the v5 and you can apply for details of the previous keeper. The question has been asked on Pistonheads before so search on there.
You could ask at work of course. -

PM me, for more details how to go about it. Note that V5c is not connected with legal ownership.

No, but there is space inside.
Honda 400/4s are also sublime bikes for their age with classic status and insurance. The handling is surprisingly capable. I'd regularly scrape the pegs on the one I had as a yoof. Once got the end of the exhaust down, it kicked the back wheel up momentarily before settling back down in an instant. Lovely little bikes.
