Try it first. I just put an extra washer in on the drive side and left it at that - if it does interfere, it won't be by much, so an extra 1mm of spacing on one side will fix it without the need to get your nipple key out and discover that all the nipples are seized :-)

Hey! Did I sell you this frame?
If so you've done a lovely job with it :) And I see the nice but worn campag headset is gone?
Very possibly, I got it off ebay and met (you?) in stratford station to pick it up, the headset was completely fucked so I replaced it with a Campagnolo gran sport.
I went for a blue and white theme with a (nearly) full NR group with cobalto brakes (shown in the linked pics back a page).
I think it probably was you who sold it to me and at the time you didn't know the tubing, I'm 99% that it's SL 1% of hope that it's SLX hahaI'm glad you got to see what I've done with it, took me ages, with loads of weird issues... I had to file down derailleur hangar so that it would take a nuovo record rear mech, and it needs a huge BB axle to stop the inner chainring from running on the chainstays. Despite all of this i love it, so thanks :)

That's me! Ahh yes I totally forgot I sold it on eBay, just assumed it was on here and deleted the thread!
And yeah I didn't have a clue of the tubing, apart from it being columbus, but that's great news :)
Sounds like all the hallmarks of a proper project haha, surprise issues left right and centre, bodge jobs to sort them back out again.
Again you've done a real justice to it, nice work man

Well Lads, that's my beast there, only got her very recently. After realising the TT is too long :(
Just wondering would a smaller stem and compact bars be an acceptable option, stem is currently 110mm. I be needin around i'd say a 50-60mm taken from that.
and do compact bars and modern/short stem look daycent on old frames?
-
• #92700
any stem shorter than 110 looks shit.
throw it away, start again
Just checking the freewheel had a standard fit?
Any idea how deep a 7spd freewheel is?
Might see if it's possible to space the hub to the left and redish it so there's room for chain like.
