I managed to average a speed of over 13mph doing the Dynamo last year single speed with a broken toe. That would not have been feasible had there been any real hills. The elevation profile makes it look bumpier than it is because it's:
a. squashed into a very small space
b. showing you lots of very very small bumps that look more significant next to each other than they would if at least one of them was big
