Bikepacking - a viable alternative to racks & panniers

but he can fit a rack! why would you load up a saddle when you can load the rear wheel? less easy access too. less satble. makes no sense.

Bike packing a touring specific bike?

Seems an odd choice, but whatever suits...

It could be because t4ny4 doesn't want two sets of touring equipment for different bikes when she can just have one set. But that's just a guess.

There are several reasons:

1. I don't particularly like the pannier aesthetic
   
2. I already had a carradice saddlebag, which I use on my fixed gear too
   
3. I wanted to make use of the frame space with a frame bag to hold tools etc
   
4. I quite like that it's a bit different from the rest
   
   

It's actually quite an accessible and practical solution actually and it works for me.
I might try racks and panniers at some point so that I can compare, but I'm quite happy with this setup at the moment.
