That bike belongs to my GF.
We initially wanted to use ISP but couldn´t find an inline stubby/clamp thing with matching clamp size so went for Kalloy post and Engage clamp. Still waiting for 10° Thomson X2 to replace the Ritchey WCS 4axis, wheelbase is ~97cm.So good
thx

Hey guys, I'm thinking about buying one of those "standard" track/fixie frames Mielec sells.
I'm unsure which size to get though.I'm currently riding a Surly Cross-Check in 54cm. I have about 10cm of seatpost showing and with bullhorns I am using a 50mm stem at the moment, I could maybe go +2cm on the stem but that would be it. So I guess its a little too large for me.
The Cross Check has a 54cm seattube and a 56cm effective toptube
The Mielec size S has a 54cm seattube and a 51,7cm toptube
Their size M has a 57cm seattube and a 53cm toptube. The S looks like the better alternative, would allow me to run a proper stem surely, but I haven't had any experience with that kind of geometry.
Any recommendations?Thanks!

Mine is here finally, bad timing though as I just bought another frame and am generally broke ;)
reminds me of this
its probably much lighter, the BMX's around that time were indestructible.

not quite the same purpose, but get where you are going... sometimes a beefy frame and 26" 2.0 tires feel just the way they should. as I have a fixed 26" wheelset and a spare disc brake I might just get some cranks and build this up untill the Alfine 11 dreams and some nice brakes come true (really dig the shimano zee for this option and don´t really care about weight). all of this is on hold currently, which makes me nervous.

Don't hold me to this, but the tubing he uses is a mix of 7005 and something else, which is generally oversized. The GT's used Easton tubing, which I guess was a completely different alloy in regards to thickness and use (expensive?) Triangular tubing looks particularly nice IMO. b0n0rs bike comes to mind if you have a look for it.
It's the first bloody image that comes up when you look for Mielec

that is a 49t, it's a friends bike.
On a different note, what about spacers that came with your GXP bottom bracket? -
• #4592
There were no spacers with the bb. The spindle lenght is designed for a 68mm bb so it not possible to use spacers.

Maybe orginal didn't come with any, but replacements usually have some.
Recently bought Pompino with Truvativ Elita road crankset that has one spacer on right side for clearence. Haven't died after 2 weeks of riding, so they are designed to use if needed I think.
On bikes I have built with Omniums haven't seen any needs for any spacers thought. -
• #4594
Spacers are, as far as I know, are meant to be used on any offroad bike. They're meant to be used without the spacers on any road going bike due to shell width.

spacers gonna space..
On the bike with spacer there isn't any problem with loose left crank arm or too much pressure on left bering etc. etc. so if we don't speak theoretically or how it was meant to be, then it works. -
