  • Putting together a hella fun bike over the next few months.
Just ordered some rims and hubs.

Can anyone recommend a good place to get a custom wheel build including spokes?
In terms of cost and build quality?

  • my soma grand randonneur custom painted and with internal cable routing for lights.... next step add fenders and rear light, my oly concern it's that the space betwen tire and rack is only 1 cm, and 2cm in all others place for fender atach

  • Handsome.

  • 1 cm is close, plastic or metal fenders?
SKS can fit fairly tight, no bolt heads on the interior.

  • You could always trim it, make sure the under side of the bag is water proof, sorted.

  • does anyone know what the biggest tire is you can put in a 4za ellyps fprk?

  • ^ is that what come's on a ridley oval? I'm pretty sure my mate has had 28c Gators on his.

  • 4ZA Ellyps is the same as the Alpina track fork found on Dolans, if that helps.

  • i want to put hammered fenders, maybe try a little bending on the rack

  • 1cm close is fine, as long the rack is level, it also allow you to mount the mudguard to the rack making it stiffer.

  • but i have 2cm between tire and fork so the radius will not be constant.

  • new radonneuse whells

    spacer.

  • Tell moi Gaston, A quoi does it servir to ligatured the rayons ?
Je do avoir too a pair of roues with the rayons ligatured

  • Those who farm to do it say that it is useless or an old obsolete tradition. I see it as a gain of rigidity, solidity and safety for calves...

  • Little update to the Chinese FR320.... Now she's running 11 speed Ultegra Di2 and some Chinese carbon clinchers. I kinda like this look and will probably keep it this way for a while!

  • That's super rad!

Nice prices too but I can't seem to find one in 58 :/

  • The geo comes up a little big. Thats a 56 and I kinda wish I went for the 54. I had to fit a 90mm stem compared to my normal 120mm

  • My first proper build, lemme know what you think. I'm so happy with her.

Frame + forks: Wyld, columbus sl
    Stem: Cinelli 1a
    Bars: Cinelli campion del monde
Seatpost: Campagnolo Athena aero (changing to record when I get one)
    Chainset(crank+f+r derailleur): Campagnolo Nuovo Record
Wheels:Campagnolo record small flange on Mavic GP4 tubular rims
Levers: Campagnolo Nuovo record long reach version
    Calipers: Campagnolo Cobalto
    Shifters: Campagnolo Nuovo record
    Pedals: Campagnolo Nuovo record SL
Bottle + Cage: Campagnolo borraica aero

  • are you implying the geo chart is wrong?

  • My new titanium Burls. Ultegra 6800, Shimano RS31 wheels, Chris King headset, 3T finishing kit, Selle Italia Diva ladies saddle (fugly but hopefully comfy!). Pedals are temporary, probably going with speedplays. Rear brake temporary, need to source a longer drop ultegra brake caliper.

    I'm in love.

  • Nice bike. Those Shimano wheel graphics aren't their finest hour though.

  • Looking good, Caz :-)
