Have to hope that Everton, Villa or West Ham will take points off City. Kevin Nolan will be up for it at least. We have to take it to the wire at least.

Corny, you really do talk a load of old bollocks at times. Torres played the ball because his teammate was in a better position to score. I thought you'd appreciate that sort of spatial awareness. As for not celebrating, I present you exhibit A.

Also, am I the only one thinking that Ba would have gotten to that loose ball first? Regardless whether Gerrard "slipped" or not. It was a shocking first touch, a true defensive midfielder wouldn't have cocked up like that. From watching the replay I think that Gerrard didn't see Ba was that close to him. Can't afford to make mistakes like that at this level but Brenda says he's the best holding midfielder in the whole of Europe. It's these sort of delusions of grandeur that make me laugh most. I can think of at least 10 better players in that position and at least two of them have actually played for Liverpool in the past.

There aren't many other holding midfielders with his range of passing. But yeah Gerrard only slipped because he lunged to try and catch up with his horrific touch. It happened just after we'd been talking about his through ball for Drogba three years ago.
Still, City are going to win the league with a captain who's had a couple of stinking touches this season, a couple of mistakes don't necessarily make a player shit.
See Cole getting the ball caught up under his feet while trying to clear on more than one occasion today.

Pirlo, Alonso, Vidal, Yaya, Mascherano, Martinez, Busquets, de Rossi, Matuidi, Bender, I'd pick all of these before even contemplating to put Gerrard there. Makeno mistake, he's had an excellent season for Liverpool but calling him the best is a bit far fetched, even for Brenda.

Haha You're (or Yaya Toure, as he's known by everyone except HTC) is not a holding midfielder.
He's an animal, a machine, and one of the best players in the world.
But I agree, there is a lot of talk about Gerrard moving back being a revolutionary move, but Alonso was doing what he's doing a few years ago to a higher standard.
That, and watching Yaya later, just highlights how well Liverpool have done this season though. They're punching above their weight with the squad they have compared to City and Chelsea, and you won't admit it I'm sure, but they've performed immensely lately.

I just looked at the table for the Segunda DivisiĆ³n to see how Girona were getting on, as they're my friend's team in Catalonia. They were in the play-offs last year, but are currently rock bottom.
However, with 6 games left, they could still mathematically get into the playoffs.
Unbelieveable how close this league is this year:

While I understand the pain of being beaten by a team that has set out to stop the flow of the game and run the clock down (its happened to us several times this season), I can't help but feel happy that all the plastic kopite whoppers that seem to have been high on some high grade crack this last couple of weeks will shut the fuck up.

Kris Commons is the Sweaty PFA player of the year. Well done Kris, such an expensive signing when we rescued him from the shitty ground.

I forgot to add, he's doing so well now he's dropped a division or two and found his level.

I see Brenda is whining about Chelsea's approach. He should get an account on here.
