The only upshot was riding with an older guy for 10 minutes who was explaining the history of his bike. Built as a path-type trainer from an old racer he picked it up in quite a state, had it fully restored and built up with priest bars, 3 speed SA hub, 650b wheels, modded Carradice handlebar bag (not the new boxy ones) and some nice modern touches (Ti Tubus Fly, VO Sabot pedals...)
Really nice chap. Hope to see him out again sometime!
