  • So I have like 20 undeveloped films, some colour process, some B&W, that are up to maybe 5 years old. I have absolutely no idea what's on them. What's the cheapest way of finding out?

  • ~~ http://www.kodakexpresscamden.com/Develop_Process.htm

£1.75 for process and scan for 10 or more rolls.

    ~~
    That was scan only

  • Some nice shots, nefarius, as usual!

AGPhotolab I found these guys to be particularly good and speedy. The scans to CD are by no means amazing, but I asked politely and they gave me 300dpi scans. It's a cheap-ish way of finding out what on film.

  • at ~£120, not that cheap :(

  • Asda do C-41 processing for £2 and £0.97 for a CD which they'll fit up to 5 rolls of film on, I've never had a problem with it.

Here are a few sample shots processed and scanned by them.

Only on in london that I know of is about 10 miles up the A5 from marble Arch, I'm due another trip up there soon.

Re the comment on my blog, it was superia 200, used wrong tag.
I didn't get on great with superia 800, super grainy.
Portra 800 any day for high ISO.

  • was superia 200, used wrong tag.

    ..ahhhh... thought so!

Portra 800 any day for high ISO.

    Same here.
Though CineStil will be an option too in the future I think!

  • Still crawling the web for detailled info on the Yashicas.

Someone is comparing them to Nikon LF45AF -
a camera that I stumpled upon surfing the internet once, I think on Rockwell's site, but never cared about.

    Anyone on here using it?
    Opinions?

  • T4:

Funny, this doesn't look like her at all. :)

  • at ~£120, not that cheap :(

Don't really have a choice these days to be honest. I still have two dozen rolls just sitting there. If you know someone still at Uni, that would be the route I'd go down.

  • Some nice shots, nefarius, as usual!

    Top two are fantastic

  • There's this guy who's been around a while. Takes solely street. More than the Weegees, the Evans' and Brassai's, he's been numero uno inspiration.
These are all from the 80/90's and are just technical nuggets of brilliance.

From what i've spoken to him, he only shoots 400 and either pushes or pulls.

  • Just found an advert for Olympus' XA series from 1980..

OLYMPUS XA Range 1980 - YouTube

  • Oh, and here's one for the Nikon LF35AF with La Toya Jackson -
    ニコンCM ラトーヤ・ジャクソン - YouTube

    wtf..

  • I have a bulk roll of Fuji superia 800 (30m) and a bulk loader with most of a roll of Agfa apex 100

    Both expired but kept refrigerated.

    Anyone interested in them?

Also have a xa with a stuck aperture lever - only does 16 to 8 iirc

  • Possibly interested in the superia/loader/agfa. How much were you after?

  • @Chak, I love those - who is the guy?

  • Possibly interested in the superia/loader/agfa. How much were you after?

    Say £20 posted?

  • That sounds great, do you have paypal?

  • Will pm you.

  • As someone who hasn't shot limited B&W of late, what gets your vote at 100 and 400 ISO?

Tones are good. Tones, tones, tones.

  • As someone who has shot (let alone developed & printed) limited B&W of late,
I would personally check out these ADOX films, or opt for Tri-X of course.

I think it all depends on what you're going to shoot, and if you're developing and printing yourself.

  • Will be lab developing at first.
    Will give ADOX a look.
