Thanks for the replies guys, she's absolutely fine apart from a swollen finger that we need to get checked out. Fortunately it was the bike rather than her that took the brunt of the impact!
It's a steel frame Hovis, and yeah I can't see any way the frame will be considered officially safe to ride.
Pearson does sound like a good shout, despite the hassle of getting there. Especially if any replacement parts will come from them.
