You seem to be misrepresenting me as somebody who thinks that you're not a proper cyclist if you don't conform to my "type" (FWIW my "type" isn't Swrve, Rapha, or braklez). But look at the photo again - those guys are the ones in the identical dorky uniforms.
What's wrong with just wearing normal clothes on a bike instead of getting dressed in a specific uniform that clearly identifies you as A. Cyclist? The only reason that ridiculous identikit outfit exists in the first place is because we've all been told we need to wear it or people in cars will run us down.
Regarding that as a bit of a problem isn't quite the same as judging people for not being able to afford Wapha and sweet fixies.

The industry will suffer, imapcting upon economic growth, resulting in political instability, eventually leading to the collapse of society as we know it, and lastly WAR.
So, in a nutshell, buy more fluorescent garments.

Everyday clothing? Oh yes, if you think a £1500 Issey Miyake dress is 'everyday'. I've seen you prancing round the playgrounds in your Jimmy Choos, carrying your coloured Allen keys in your Prada handbag. Don't deny it.

I'm posting in the Campaigning thread. (a bit shocked about this)
Oliver, be proud of me! lol.So I'm working at the CTC now.. although I feel most people on here are not campaigners, I thought some of you would enjoy this aspect of my current PR role.
CTC have begun a "good" and "bad" infrastructure map for the UK as part of the plan to deliver a National Space for Cycling campaign.
Londoners will know about the LCCs #Space4Cycling campaign of which this is the next step.ANYHOW. There's this map. You can put pictures up on it of what is good or what is horrid .. it would be awesome if any one would be able to post stuff up to it.

bikes-on-bikes collision on the rise.
According to Dutch road safety body VeiligheidNL, the increased number of collisions can be put down to the increased traffic on cycle paths and trails.
Interesting, I remember I express concern when I was in Copenhagen during the summer, that there were literally traffic jam on the cycle paths despite a near empty road.
Also remind me of Oliver's comment; "give them cycle path and they'll take it without skill"

second one is Hembrows deconstruction of another release today,
hes pretty good- accurate assessment of designs, except for the fact he fucked off to Hollland years ago so dosent DEAL with the roads like we do every day and speaks from Dutch perspective, which is alright if you live in Holland.

Whilst we're on the subject of cycle campaigning, I've created a couple of threads. One for London Cycling Campaign's Space for Cycling local election efforts and the Space for Cycling Big Ride.
Both tie in closely with the work that CTC is doing on a national level and would be great for people to support as the local elections come closer.
TIL, quelle suprise!, that if there is a segregated cycle lane (that meanders behind bus stops and leads to blind turns for cars), and you chose to use the road anyway, that car drivers will be quite happy to tell you to "fuck off the road and get on the cycle path".
I can't help but feel, given the history of segregation over the last 200 years, that if that is the answer, then are well really asking the right question?
