Seriously? What do you think of Hope hubs? Or Middleburn cranks?
Rather than 'bling', I've seen each of them as pretty much 'the all-round best' ever since they came to market. CK headsets were a must-have on most nice MTB builds in the '90s, and even then the absolute quality of them overshadowed their aesthetics - their rep has stayed rock-solid ever since, imo.
No marketing needed really, just talk to any shop mechanic that works with the stuff - it's fit-and-forget, unless you're a weight-weenie.
I think Hope hubs are nice kit- I own some, and like them.
The CK equivalent of the Hope's I have are £650. That's a months rent. They're so hugely expensive I never, ever considered them as being worth the money.
