  • I'll be going Brixton > Kennington > London Bridge > Aldgate > Stratford ... er, Ilford? .. > some other places very far east ... Happy to meet along the way, or in Brixton - say outside Brixton cycles at 7.30?

  • OK. Brixton Cycles at 7.30am. I may be grumpy at first, but I will get more cheerful en route.

  • Is there a list? I like lists.

  • It's much easier than RotFL. Very do-able fixed. No really steep stuff.

basically pan flat apart from one long grind at the end, which is a lot more taxing than it should be.

I'd go as far as to say it's more enjoyable fixed than not.
    but what isnt, really.

  • I quite like that hill at the end, strangely (apart from the speed bumps). It's not that long either. In fact everything is short enough to stamp up fixed quite happily if you're feeling good.

They could have included the B172 climb up west out of Theydon Bois, that's much more of a grind.

  • Looks like our very own hippy and 6pt are 3rd and 4th on Strava land for this:

  • 6pt's time was the year it absolutely hammered it down all day as well.

  • Excuses

I take exception with "pan flat" it's a bit lumpy to be fair. What really sucked energy last year was the flippin near constant headwind. And the biting cold : /

Here's hoping the weather gods are kinder this year!

Sophie Dahl is "a bit lumpy".

This ride is more Kate moss pre-heroin.
There are bumps but you have to really look for them.

  • The below elevation profile is hardly "pan flat" in a way that bit of Norfolk are, for example...

This is last years one, if it's the same route this time - http://ridewithgps.com/routes/2291002

  • I'd call it ripply, tending to flat.

  • Ugh..

    for example...

    you got me.

As regal rightly points out, that was the slow year, more swim than ride. This segment refers to a more positive time.

  • Ah, that appears to be much more consistent with what you said the other day.

Immense, did you ride in a group or this a solo effort?

  • Solo. Got no friends, innit.

  • entered. see you all monday.

i did this sportive a few years ago with 6pt.

    flat and fast.

imo one of the best sportives out there.

  • The flapjack was / is indeed good

  • What time is everyone aiming to start? Flyer says 10, website says 9.

  • Hmmm. Why was I awake at 6am this morning. Grr. Still gives me some time to remove mudguards (tempting fate!)

  • don't do it!

  • Is anyone else coming to BC? I'm probably going to start rolling in 5 min, will be following KTBs route out if/when I do

  • Sorry - there in a coupe ofminutes ...

  • I didn't see any fixie skidders :(

  • Did you fixie-skid it?
