The fact it's tungsten balanced is exactly why I haven't bothered to get it processed yet, it was all used in scenes that were mostly daylight.
I reckon with the right filter it'll be exactly what I hoped it would be, a less grainy and more contrasty film than portra 800 that I can nicely push to 1600 ISO.

Anyone in here know of good portrait and wide angle lenses for the pentax system?
I used the Pentax-M 28mm f/3.5 for a while now, and I love it!
Haven't used the other Pentax-M wide angles side by side with this one though.
Check ratings on Pentax Forum (but I recommend reading all the reviews for a lens as well),
some few people have no clue and give a bad rating which bends the overall rating unaturally.Portrait wise I only ever used the 135mm f/3.5.
It's not superb, but it's built very very nice, basically like all Pentax-M lenses,
bokeh is not superb but very nice, same goes for sharpness.
Focussing is smooth BUT if you want to have sharp results at 3.5 you really have to look very very closely (split image).
Even with the ME's nice, big, bright finder it's not that easy to nail focus with this lens quickly. -

Like, I'm having less of a hard time with a Nikon FG & the 200mm / f4.

Ah cheers Tina, been looking at the 85mm f2 for a while but haven't looked into it properly yet, my focusing is a bit hit and miss, I definitely find it easier without my glasses on, especially with the split image focusing screen.

Gone, some amazing stuff there. Looks like you get up to all sorts...
Is that one from the railway line taken here? https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place/26+Rue+Friant/@48.8251179,2.3238157,19z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m2!3m1!1s0x47e671adc034e22f:0x67bd8a1820eb5cba

I use a 19-35 Cosina k-mount Indra, does the job and you can pick them up fairly cheap. Had a Cosina 24mm 2.8 too, liked that until I broke it.

My grandfather passed away a couple of weeks ago, so I've been going through pictures in preparation for his funeral.
Really glad to have taken the time to shoot a few portraits with him while I had the chance.
Not the greatest picture ever taken, but I thought it was worth sharing.
From my first ever roll of 120 (Portra 400) with a Pentax 645

Very sorry or your loss, I think you posted a brilliant portrait of him a couple of months. Really was fantastic.

Another holiday snap from vancouver, I wasn't going to post it because there's a lot about it that annoys me but I've decided that I still kinda like it.

Food markets have historically depressed me a little because of my lack of culinary will, but I've been warming up to them on the last couple of trips - they're a treasure trove of colour and people that a picture taker can have a lot of fun with.
Thanks for those Indra. -

Thanks WP, I like then for the same reason and also there's part of me that enjoys seeing the different produce on offer, prices and how deals were made, really am gutted that I lost the camera and memory card that I brought with me to Ethiopia on the long and stressful journey home (remember that ash cloud :/ ) Definitely the biggest and most varied I've been to, everything from local coffee, kids toys, khat, fruits and a whole load of guns.

^^^ I like the* sunlight farms* one.
It's nice to see more of the hall, the beams etc. (not just apples and price labels etc. - this has been done to death). -

Sorry if this has been covered already,
but can anyone point me to a good site where I can learn about Yashica's T3 / T3 SUPER & T4 etc. please.
I'm looking for something to replace the Mju-ll with - which still has the mysterious light leak (though I taped all the things),
and failed to impress me, sharpness-wise. -

Oh, and for all the Pentax people -
had a chance to try out the Pentax-M 85mm / f2 yesterday - beauuuutiful lens!
Well built as all of the Pentax-M's, a bit bigger than the 50mm, superb handling like all the others in the series,
also great to focus; much better that the 135/3.5, bit better that the 50/1.7 even.
Get one, if you can! They're pricey though... : *[ * -

I think I like it (will buy again). It's expensive (but so is Portra 800).
It's a tungsten film, as you may know already.
So things illuminated by yellow-ish lightbulb-like light looks less artificially yellow, and other stuff looks blue.
Shit picture, but this illustrates the point very good (from here) -
It also is an "xpro" film (read all the nerd info here), so maybe this has something to do with the way it handles contrast.
I would say it is a bit less grainy than Portra 800, but it has more contrast.
This is not a bad thing, depending on what you do.
That film is certainly something new / unique, whether it's your thing you have to see for yourself,
check out the pictures on their site and / or google images, you'll get an idea how stuff looks.
Maybe it's just because it's sort-of unusual / new, but there's something magical about it.
