Looks like we get 6 main spots and 1 wildcard, so still 2+1 to play for.

Playing in more than one country's champs/qualifiers is not cool. It's not fair that you would get to play in both sets of tournaments but others don't (also the issue of affecting others qualification process arises). Players should pick one country to play their respective champs/qualifiers and stick to it. You wouldn't see Bayern in the FA cup...

Seems fair, we gave Beavers a spot at the North Americans too. Though they declined it, so we gave it to their qualifier instead.

Well I don't know if I really agree with your comparison because the FA cup and a national tournament aren't really comparable, and the same goes with Polo compared to soccer.
In a general manner of speaking, I could try to play in the french champ because I am french but don't live there. Same goes with the german champ because I'm german and I live here. But my team mates are both "british" so I should play the UK qualifier. If the french didn't have that rule about playing in 2 qualifiers (btw is it just qualifier or also championship) wouldn't you have like playing the UK one two, only because it is your "actually" championship against your fellow country man? That's just how I fell. I wanna qualify with my team but also measure myself against my fellow german opponents in a championship, knowing that it is played after the Euros anyway. -

I think you can play in whichever one you want, depending on what that tournament organisers say. The main point is you should only be able to play in one countries tournaments if those tournaments can qualify you for the Euros.

If the German champs are after the Euros then I see no reason you couldn't play in them. The only objection I have is the possibility of affecting other teams chances of qualifying.

true that -

That is why I think nationals and qualifiers should always be two separate occasions.

German Champs are supposed to be on 25-27 July in Oberhausen.
Matthieu you should join https://www.facebook.com/groups/521147474574658/ if you are not in there already. -

Maybe it's time to stop having qualifying spots based on nationality and have regional qualies?
-
• #173
What would I do with my patriotic, flag waving urges?
-
• #174
Regional qualies, would give you more chance for patriotism... Not less.

whats the deal with people claiming their spots for the euro's? I.e if any of the top 4 from the champs can't go (i'm assuming the 2/3rds rule applies) then who would get that spot? would it go to the next highest place team or would an extra spot be given to the qualifier? Is there a deadline for teams claiming there spots? Has any of this been discussed before?
^this.
People need to book weekends off, can we decide on a date?
