My state of knowledge is that it's a myth that teflon etc. is actually harmful - the body simply discards it.
The two I have (a 40€ one, and a cheap one seen in the mangel picture above) both last very well (I hardly use anything but wood / bamboo stuff in it though, and don't actually cook that devilish hot in them, just have no need for it).
