Turned the house upside down last night looking for the remote lead. It was in a carrier bag in my bag. I've a horrible feeling I've recycled it. I'll be getting a new one and will post a photo.

Basically I thread the Velcro strap once through each of the loops on the button so the button sits in the middle. I think place the button on the inside of the brake hood (where the thumb rests when riding on the hoods) and wrap one end of the Velcro strap over the top and the other under the hood and let them stick. The cable is then long enough to reach the light even if mounted next to the stem.

The only issue of mounting this way is if you have the prickly bit of Velcro against the hood its rather abrasive on the rubber after 3 months. If the prickly bit is outwards its abrasive on the gloves. Its a very convenient place to put the button though.
