Paid for a NOS Campag Centaur groupset from Nutsjesmoar (Jan Van der Meer) on Sunday March 9th 2014, I used paypal to send £ 275 + 3% fees.
He said he’d post it the next day and package it well.
I emailed him 3 days later asking for an update, tracking number etc...
No response, emailed him again a couple of days later. He replied eventually ten days later saying he was sorry he must have missed the email. He assured me he posted it the day after payment and that it should arrive soon, but gave me no postage evidence or tracking number.
I again requested information on the package that still hadn’t arrived after two weeks, He sent me a photo of a receipt from a dutch supermarket which showed a charge of 19euro for something and a sales code/reference number (which showed the postage on Wednesday not Monday, a white lie ), he said this was the tracking number. The number didn’t work with PostNL (TNT) or Royal Mail. I went to my local Royal Mail depot but they had nothing for me, and said the code was not a european tracking code. I told this to Jan, he said he’d look into it and said that if I hadn’t received the package by Friday 21 March he’d refund my money in full.
Sunday 30 March, I had received no groupset and Jan had not responded with a valid tracking number or any evidence of having looked into the situation, so I asked him for a refund as he promised.
He has gone quiet since, ignoring all emails, and ignoring a paypal dispute. His last contact was 26th March, and hasn’t replied to 7 emails from me. I have seen him comment of Lfgss forums in the interim so I must assume he’s seen my emails.
Has anyone else had an problem with this guy?
I can only advise all members to be cautious of him, I certainly wouldn’t trust him again, He still owes me £283.
