  • Cheap games for xbox 360 I can download? I feel like playing a video game. That's fun. And cheap.

  • State of Decay.

  • Hitman is free on gold

  • I don't have gold. Don't play mulitplayer so see no point.

    Checking state of decay.

  • State of Decay.

Hmm, looks like Fallout: Zombie Apocalypse to me... Might be nice!

  • Haven't played Fallout so don't really know but I found it a real nice balance between hunting for items you need (food, ammo etc.) and killing zombies. You also have to learn how to pick your fights and be stealthy... you cant go nuts like in L4D2.

  • if you like that you might enjoy the various versions of Stalker.

  • Just googled it, looks really good! Windows only though?

  • yes

  • Check out Sir, You Are Being Hunted. Quite a nice spin on it, still in Early Access though as far as I'm aware.

  • Well I finished Dark Souls 2. Took a long time. I missed killing 2 people. Unfortunately they're the most difficult challenges in the game so I now have to face them on NG+.

    Nice one!
It is a great game. Been playing over this week. In someways it isn't as dark and dank as the first game. Movement and fighting is lighter and the world map with transporting between areas from the ofset means there is less trudging around which perversely I don't like as much. Part of the appeal of DS1 is the profound loneliness and frustration, fighting the same respawning hollows over and over again, just to die and repeat. In DS2 after 12 attempts the enemies disappear which makes some things easier.

Multiplayer too is better in DS2. You can summon help when hollow which again makes things easier and such fun cooperative fighting bosses

It does look spectacular. Seems to have more varied areas though the vertical and coherent map of DS1 was amazing, knowing that you can access, on foot (or by flying creatures) everywhere without bonfire transportation.

With the improved NG+ which makes replaying very different from the first run through, and the varied character types and weaponry, I imagine spending little money on other games this year. there seems so much more to find in DS2 and also more sense of a community jointly discovering the joys a perils of the land.

The lore/story is still vague and largely irrelevant to the gameplay and, like real life, trying to find meaning in what is essentially tough and meaningless is futile.
    10/10

  • I played the demo of State of Decay and I worry it'll be a stressful game of running around trying to find bits and bobs in houses always on the back foot (probably what being in a zombie apocalypse would be like, I suppose). Is this the case?

  • Any updates on Diablo 3? People still enjoying it?

  • Yup. Enjoying the Crusader.

  • Finally got around to playing a big chunk of Bioshock Infinite after grabbing it cheap last week. Meh :/

  • H. I have some old Xbox 360 games you can haz. Gizza bell yah?

Ha, ermm... not really... its more a case of getting set up and choosing your fights. I have never had to run about hunting for food before my entire camp drops dead with hunger.

  • I'm still enjoying Diablo 3, nearly up to Act V on my Crusader.

Did anyone start a LFGSS clan / community?

  • I think I did. Not sure.

    Orly? Perhaps another middle-age mid-week meet-up?

  • I'm still playing Dark Souls 2, and can't stop playing Dark Souls 2, even though I'm not enjoying it nearly as much as the previous two games.

Seriously though, why is the game so fucking ugly? Where are all the beautiful vistas and clever interconnectivity of DS1? Demon's Souls looked better than this.

  • You on PS3?

Did the same and got it cheap, completed last night and not sure how I feel about the whole thing. World was interesting, story was interesting, ending cut scenes and story twist is pretty good. However, play and combat became repetitive very quickly, the skyline concept was interesting but didn't outweigh how pedestrian other aspects were. I also found it tiresome having to search every body, bin and building to accumulate enough money for upgrades.

  • For me the first 5 mins or so in Columbia before it all goes tits up were my favourite, after that it's just felt like an uninspired grind. The combat isn't challenging enough to provide an obstacle (probably my fault for doing it on standard difficulty) and is so repetitive that I see it as just a hollow way to slow the player down before the next exposition. And I'm finding the vigours generally pointless too so far, unnecessary sparkliness that adds sod-all to the game besides reminding you you're playing a re-skinned version of the first game. The story is reasonably engaging and so far better than I expected it to be, but I'm not willing to jump through the arbitrary hoops to find out what happens next.

Got hitman absolution via games for gold and loving it, though.
