You don't think you'll ever love it as much as you do an optical one, and then you do. It opens up a magical world of manual focus lens possibilities having 10x live view zoom at your eye. And seeing your exposure for actual real, not just on the meter, before you press the shutter.
I do still miss my D700 on occasion, but the X-E2 is a joy to use. I definitely take it out with me far more than I did the Nikon; it is so unobtrusive.
