    Cheers.

I think it'd ruin it if I shot more colour film as it looks do different to my normal work output.

  • Hi All,

It has been quite a few years since I shot with film. I am flying to Copenhagen in 2 weeks time and would like to take my old film camera with me. Will the films be OK going through security? Are there any precautions I should take?

    Thanks in advance.

  • Google it and it will tell you the films might get 'misty' or lose contrast. I've never had any issues though

  • ^^^ I've heard that only really high iso film would possibly be affected.
    What speed are you taking?

100 and 400 so probably will be OK. Thanks.

  • You can also take it as hand luggage, and ask for it to be scanned by hand at security - apparently the things they use there are not as agressive.
Sorry, I don't know how to say this better in english, but you know what I mean.

Taking hand bagage only, so will do this, thanks Tina.

  • Good luck doing that in the uk, think there's rules against it here. They'll do it at very other country, but not here. Terrorists you see...

  • Hand luggage scanners are fine in all modern airports. They will not fog your film (Kathmandu is an exception).
Hold luggage scanners are much stronger and will fog the film, so long as you carry it with you it will be fine

  • yeah i remember when i went to america last year the sign said it wouldnt affect films below 3200 iso so you should be fine all mine went through the scanners absolutely fine (200 iso)

edit: all went though in hand luggage.

  • I've brought up to 800 iso through Heathrow and other European airports no problem.

Apparently in Heathrow they'll hand inspect it for you if they're not too busy, I didn't bother asking.

  • Don't try and hide, conceal or protect film ie by wrapping it in foil etc. the crag operator will just increase the power till they can see what it is which will bugger your film anyway.
