I fired up D3 and got as far as rescuing the old git from the skeleton king and in total had only 4 items drop (3 standard, 1 blue) last night. I thought I'd try as a demon hunter and to get through the 1st level of the cathedral took me about 25 minutes, i couldn't move more than half a screen without running into 10-15 enemies and at lvl 5 I have no weapons or skills that will let me make any kind of headway through them so I was constantly backpedalling to evade the hordes.
none of the merchants in tristram seem to sell items for demon hunters either and I don't have any in my stash so i'm basically going to have to grind the shit out of the game to get to a point where it evens out a bit.
i think it was actually slightly better before...
