    BM doesn't account for the individuals actual body composition. Is there a consensus that the extra protein for athletes is for muscle cells and connective tissue to aid with recovery, repair and muscle synthesis?

    Because it's a quick factsheet designed for athletes to refer to not sports scientists to argue about. But you can argue with the AIS about their values..

    No, BM doesn't account for body composition - perhaps that's why they split the recommendations into sports types!
