Why do you have to visit more than once?
Our body is always adapting, sometime it does required a second visit to get the position spot on.
For once, Ed is bang on the money.
I went to Scherrit after going to Nic at Velo Physio for her to look at my awful back/flexibility/knee. Scherrit took this information in to account for my initial fit. Now, 3 months down the line and 45 minutes of stretching a day later, I can probably drop my stem about 15-20mm and bring it out a bit, in addition to some other little changes.

Why do you have to visit more than once?
Multiple bikes. New bikes. New goals. Accident. New shoes. You like the sound of his voice. Pat the puppies. Coffee. The glint in his eye. All of the above.

Out of interest has anybody compared a paid bikefit (cheapest ones in Narn Air are £200...) compared to an online bikefit?
Online bikefits cannot spot asymmetries obviously or injuries requiring special tweaks. The reach etc. may however be accurate.
Though of course you also pay for the coffee, the craic, being filmed in your hot looking cycling kit... ;)

Went to Scherritt yesterday myself.
5.5 hrs chatting shit about bikes and wheelbuilding and powermeters and how
mentalhard hippy is was fun. Potentially sorting out the cause of niggling knee pain and some recent sciatic back pain episodes was a bonus.Total adjustments to my bike were about 5mm of movement of my saddle, but loads of attention to my shoes, cleats and insoles as the contact points that effect most what happens back up the kinetic chain to your legs, hips and torso.
The bike adjustments are actually the easy bit and that was what happens last of all; its the interviewing to identify possible causes of the things he's observing you do on the bike itself that takes the time together with the exercises to identify weakness/instability that might need correction and/or adjustment on the bike to fix, or exercise + stretches to address off the bike.

Price has gone up a bit on the website since I booked plus I didn't need any super duper corrective footbeds or cleat shims which might add to the price, just a couple of little heel wedges so total was less that the current £265 basic price.
Just to highlight, if you got to some fitters they will automatically put you in the new insoles etc. because your current ones "aren't supporting your foot". Scherrit will cut up and glue in gel bartape to modify your existing insoles if they are "close enough". It's a big difference in philosophy.
You go to Specialized believe you will come away with Specialized insoles because that's the "BG system" you are buying.

No dog?
I'll only consider going if there is a dog.
Dog update?

Dogs are at home. Fitting is elsewhere. You could perhaps request their presence :)

I have to say I was disappointed at the lack of Fettle when I last went to see El Scherrito, which was before he fled from civilisation and out into the wilds of Bracknell, or wherever the hell he is now.
EDIT/ but to answer the "why have another" question, I've been working hard to fix my scoliosis and flexibility issues, which make a non-trivial difference to how you fit on a bike.
Plenty of work still to do before I head back again though.

you're centre of gravity has changed
you're weight is now positioned more towards the front axles thus moving weight away from the rear of the bike
hover you're ass way out the back of the bike over the rear axle for breakingSounds like the best solution atm lol
I can afford to bike fit, it's one of 4 bikes but I like bikes I can lock up and not worry about, can understand the appeal if cycling in a competitive way but for going to work and back or to the shops why bother. Also I get bored and swap parts so any fit I do could soon be rendered useless. It's really comfortable to ride apart from the slight endo issue.
I do try to avoid the slamming the brakes on but city riding it's just one of those things that happens.
Also bars aren't the wrong way around, they are deda low rider bars with TT style brake levers. No plan to clip on extensions or anything.

I'm going back because I want my cleats fitted for a different pedal system/new shoes and because I have a new bike. Simples.

Anywhere in London recommended for just a cleat fit? Cheap would be nice.

When riding rollers I have to give up around the 40-45 minute mark as I get huge hotspot sort of ache-ing pain where my saddle contacts my ass.
It sort of starts aching up into my lower abdomen too ? if I get off for 30 seconds it goes away and I can carry on for a bit longer before it comes back
is this likely to be a saddle issue or a fit issue?
