Does it reduce the friction? It stilk looks like quite a tight bend radius. I have mine straight from the right lever into the headset mounted hanger. Is the above image the normal routing?

I can't imagine my Pompino being anything like as fun to ride with risers as it is with drops. Why not give drops or bullhorns a go? And yeah, lighter tyres, plus a 19t cog on the back, and it should be quicker to accelerate, nippier?
I've had drops on my old pomp, and other than my pure hatred for having a useless left brake lever it was good fun. Given I have drops and levers I guess I should experiment.
Is there a dingledangerthingy that would allow me to have both left and right levers controlling the front brake? Like a two cables into one thing? That would be grand, and I'm sure I've seen something like that before but it escapes me

There is, but one levers will feel really crap while the other are moderately ok.

I don't know how much a dingledangerthingy would be, but, why not put on a rear canti even if it's just a cheap one?
I run front a rear brakes on mine and only have to change the rear pad positions occasionally ie when I change gearing.

Ah, that makes sense. Forget about that then.

That has crossed my mind. I did fixed 2 brakes (and still actually have a rear V brake in my shed) for a while and it just didn't feel right. I'll see how I get along with a useless lever and take it from there.
I'll have a play with cogs and tape come pay day, as I'm flat broke at the moment -

or you could try like this

I made a dingledangerthingy once. it worked OK with both levers, but I managed to ruin it.
problem solvers make another one.
for now, I just ride fixed with both front and rear brake. -

I ride fixed with two brakes also. It feels great, not 'wrong' at all.

Layback with a very short stem there.
That's a lovely setup though. What bars?
long Femurs = lay back post.
Short body and arms = short stem.
T-rex body.Bars are Deda big piega, nowt special, a little too deep for me, cobbled together from the parts bin...
Cant wait for the spring to come so I can ride it - it is still knocking around the double digit negatives here! Oh canada!

Pompetamine's been back in off road mode for the weekend. Forgotten how much fun it is getting out there and getting muddy.
Mate!! This looks like massive, massive fun!! Makes me want one so much.

Not exactly 100% on topic but does anyone know when the On One's 29er steel rigid disc forks will be in stock again? Sent them a mail but no response yet, or have they been discontinued? Last time I was looking at them was over two years ago..

I asked about 3 weeks ago and they said at the end of March.

Finally had a day free to put together the new pomp. Just been out for a ride, and love it! Bit strange going from a beat up criterium bike to a shiny new pomp but it already feels great, gear is too small though so will prob get a new chainring fairly soon.
28c tires are a revelation!

Very nice, thought about removing the rim decals?
-
• #3619
yeah going to for sure. i kinda like them in a guilty way but they are a bit busy with the writing on the tyre as well.
really want to take the race face off the stem as I have flipped it but it seems to be under a clear coat.

Hi, I'm new here, sorry to post this in the general thread but it looks like I have to comment rather than starting a new one until I prove I can behave. Anyway...
I cracked the chain stays on my Pompino, this is about 2 years and 10,000 miles old (just out of Warranty, thanks for being sympathetic On-One).
Does anyone know if I can get it welded safely, and if so, where? I love my glow in the dark green and want to keep it. I'm in SE London, thanks.

This is just as good a place as any to post and it's not something that requires its own thread.
Another good place would be the "any questions answered" thread.

^^ Talbot seems to be a good option at the moment.

Oh actually you probably can't. So just call them.

Is it considered anti to use bullhorn with the pompino ?
-

Sounds like going to a party without knickers.
Reduce friction I reckon.
Other option is to modified a v brake noodle to allow a tight bend without creating friction, or get a fork mounted cable hanger.
