  • Looking for a forum hand on this if anyone can help.

We've sprung a leak, specifically from around the grey bit in the picture, when the bath is draining or plug open whilst showering.

The work was done last year by a plumber and was fine until Sunday when kitchen beneath got soaked. On opening panel leg near side wasn't taught, think the slight movement this allowed may have caused problem to develop over time.

Seems to either need the grey bit refitting correctly or replacing.

I've plumbed in a bath before no probs, but not with this kinda plug/overflow mechanism and it's puzzling me how to get it apart.

Looks like it needs to come off, but this isn't proving easy... will I need to break the seal above (around the plug hole) and remove that as part of the whole assembly or should it simply come apart from beneath with a bit of biff?

    Any guidance much appreciated, ta.

It most likely needs to be stripped down and refitted. Call a plumber :-)
