  • And I bet it wouldn't sound any better with a £1000 set of Van Den Hul's hanging out of it.

  • Anyone got thoughts on the Pono from Neil Young?

Part from obvious design flaws, i'm curious

$399! Im assuming this doesn't include a suitable set of headphones/earphones?

This is obviously just aimed at a small demographic of audiophiles which doesn't really make a good business model.

I'd imagine Neil Young's backing will ensure that there will an army of baby-boomers queuing up to chuck money at it.

  • Is there a reason why it's used over more expensive cables?

  • Attached to Dynaudio speakers by any chance?

  • It's cheaper...

To be honest in the touring world you are looking at how good the cables sheath/jacket is rather than the copper inside. You want something that can be coiled and uncoiled day after day and not start kinking.

  • Horses for courses I suppose.

  • Cable talk again.
    I'm out...

  • Interesting. Thanks.

  • is flymo cable especially good then ?
goes to shed to dismantle flymo

  • If its good enough for the Pro's.......

  • just good old high grade copper

  • You mean how the speakers looks?

  • As in studio over home?

  • I had a half decent Meridian/Unison Research/Dynaudio combo and loved it but it was impractical as the wife wanted the speakers hidden. I spent a pretty penny on it all and just give up in the end and sold it. I now have an ipod and an Aego M sub sat. Happy enough though.

  • I'd like a few of these please

  • Was the TV hidden?

No but It will be tonight.

  • Headphones - talk to me.

I don't want anything open, I want to be able to Mix with them, but also for out and about, so no crazy bass, I want high quality sound but not completely flat.

    I have been considering:

    Mad Dogs Pro
    AKG 500
    BeyerDynamic Custom One Pro

Anyone know these, or any better ones they'd recommend? Happy to spend around £200, and I don't want to have to use a headphone amp.

  • ^This.

  • In the Adidas Originals blue colourway.

  • Have had a pair of those, and they squish my ears as they sit on, not over. I also find the clamp quite tight

  • Another vote for hd-25's, had mine for 8 years now and they're worth every penny. I've replaced the muffs to velour ones, well lush. Also lusting for a telephony cable, you know the curly ones.

  • ^^ Get velour muffs

  • Or get Erol Alkan's headphones

  • Same here, over 10 years now, 5 of which were everyday heavy use, still going strong. The only thing I've ever replaced were those sweet velour covers as the originals has worn out. Still sound great and work perfect.
