Just to echo what Tom said upthread. Stop worrying about what other people are doing and just enjoy riding. If you're training for racing or for a goal, then yeah, sure give yourself a hard time, but remember to factor in recovery weeks etc. Otherwise just build up slowly - overdoing it will do more harm than good.
