Stick with the prevail. I have one and would only change it for another.

Issue with that is I put mine down on the table in Cafe St Germain a while ago, and I've just noticed that the one I picked up when we left has a Sportive timing sticker on it- mine didn't.
I have, therefore, someone elses helmet, complete with unknown crash-history etc etc.
And I feel like a change, and maybe a helmet that wont be afflicted with the wonks, as this one (or it's twin) had all last year.
That's probably my primary requirement- sits on my head straight.

Need a new lid. After a few rounds of trying-on, turns out that Lazer and Catlike are the best fit for me. Wishing to spend $150 or less, I'm trying to decide between the Lazer 02 and the Catlike Vacuum.
If anyone has tales (good or bad) about either, I'm all ears. -

^^Fair enough, if you want a change then go for it. How about the Evade? Supposed to save a few watts and you can look like

Is that an arm?
I realise cycling is a leg sport. But imagine if you want to do some lifting. Like wearing a watch.
UCI needs to impliment a minimum upper body weight for us mortals to be able to follow the sport.

Well spotted. Perhaps weight classes are in order. The 205lb heavyweights trying to climb mont Ventoux would be lol.

In.

I've climbed a mountain with a near identical profile as Ventoux. While nearly 200 lbs. On a fixed gear. Twice.
Pros.....
pffffffft. -

I may have taken an age, and ultimately passed out.

In more related news. I love my top gun helmet. I look a twat. But its very very comfy, doesnt give me a cold head (I'm a baldy git), gives better vision, and actually protects the back of my head (loads of roadie helmets dont seem to).

I forget- you got the air attack?
-
• #539
Is it a Casco?

Air attack shield.
Been trying to source some extra lenses. A clear one and maybe a darker one.

What do you all suggest getting: bern watts hard hat or the EPS version?
Do people wear these in summer? I like the fixed visor look but it has significantly less vents than an Allston..

Went for this.
V comfy, and the rest of my kit's black so I wanted some colour/visibility.http://i206.photobucket.com/albums/bb2/190EvoluzioneII/Lazer02FlashYellow_zps72b1e62b.jpg

Where is a good place to get a helmet for a great price?
Either online or in-store?
-
• #544
^^ NJS stamped?
-
• #545
Erm, no.
I ordered this through my LBS as they were patient and informative when I tried on a ton of brands to figure out what shape my head was. It was actually cheaper to do this than buy it anywhere online. I'll do the same next time I need shoes. -

I have been thinking about a new helmet. Has anyone on here tried the new planet x pro ones? they look nice, and the price is good. At the moment riding with a limar 777

they're fairly terrible. I bought one and after enduring the disaster that is yodel's christmas time delivery service, the helmet felt cheap, the straps are too thin and the clamping system's not all that. Had I tried it on in store I definitely wouldn't have brought it, but I couldn't bring myself to arrange yodel to collect for a refund

How are you liking it? I've had one of these since crashing a Giro last year and can't say I ever managed to get used to the unique adjustment system. Doesn't feel as solid on my nut like a rear tightened helmet when wearing a skullcap or cap underneath

Only done about 25 miles with it on so far, always with a cycling cap underneath. I really like it, no trouble securing it and no hotspots. My head measures 59cm so it's in the right ballpark for the standard 02 (which is a one-size helmet) to be 'my size'.
Apparently every person at the LBS tried it on when it came in (I didn't mind) and two of the staff ordered one that same day. It was $110, which I think is pretty decent. -

get a specialized they are really comfortable and light but are quite expensive.
