That Gerrard ditty, not sure how to read it but the paragraph about Zidane made me chuckle. Zidane said that Gerrard is to L'pool what Makelele was for RM. I'd doubt that he meant playing style but importance to the team. Seemed to have gotten lost on the author.

We look disjointed in defence and midfield, lots of attempting flicks and one touch passes which seem to be just a bit off. Giving the ball away lads and lacking any sort of control.
Benfica took their goal well, now just sitting back and waiting to hit us on the counter..
