On the topic of the GF01, I just received my new (non disk) frame as a warranty replacement for my road racer SL01. After having it for 8 months I found crack in the seat post mount, as the SL01 has the aerofoil seat post it has 2 slots at the mount with one of them cracking. BMC sent the GF as the replacement as it appears they are no longer making the SL01.
To be honest the whole warranty process took a fair while (2 months). I was a little disappointed at first because they just sent a different frame without telling me and I really liked the SL01 geometry. After my first 100 miles on it last weekend my tune has changed and I am quite happy with the GF01. I didn't really notice the the "vertical compliance" they talk about so much but its was a really nice comfortable ride. I can't comment on its climbing ability because I haven't been on the bike in a while and I had done about 40 miles by the time I got to box hill so I ended up spinning up it (excuses right...). However when ever I was out of the saddle it felt nice and solid. I should probably mention I am also running 23's and it would probably be much more comfortable with the 28's it comes with. I post another update once I get a few more miles on it.
It did come with all the kit (plugs ect.) to run it with electronic shifting. I probably won't need them so if someone was looking for them you are welcome to have it.
Also on the topic of warranty. I purchased the bike in America and that didn't appear to be an issue getting replaced over here. As Evans are the only distributor in the UK they handled the replacement, the guys were really great and looked after me, especially because I hadn't purchased the bike through them.
