i've sold a groupset and some wheels on ebay and the buyer wants to meet in person to collect (great! i dont have to worry about wheels getting squashed in the post) ... but, they've offered to pay cash or their preferred method paypal 'gift'.
seems better for me than them that they pay this way. is there some kind of sneaky snag i'm missing?
(buyer has plenty of good feedback buying and selling)

I built this up for myself a couple of years ago but it suffered a terrible combination of me being too precious about it to use it, it didn't fit me, and i was enjoying cycling on the road less and less. i would like to find a new home for it where it'll get some good use, it's a lovely frame.
60cm ST / 58cm TT - I've used it with 25c tyres but haven't attempted proper mudguards
also included is seatpost, headset, 3m status stem, condor handlebars, cages, and original 'MBK' saddle.
originally i paid 45 quid for the frame (excluding the handlebars / stem), and i'd like £45 for the lot.
collection from leytonstone (e11) up until 12th feb, then from se22 after that.
-
-
Note: Wheels are strictly collection only and no later than Feb 12th / Smaller bits can be posted for a few quid, but i'd really rather not!
Currently located in Leytonstone E11 until 13th February then SE22 after that.
Pedals
Plastic DMR black flat pedals, fitted to a bike but never used (might be able to include some unused straps if i can find them)
Velcro straps for flat pedals - brand new
Locks
Abus cable lock - handy as a secondary lock for quick stops. as above, only has one key. EDIT - now with two, yes TWO keys.

Royal Mail bag is now on it's way to @TotalShanner and the North Face bag is due for collection by @MrParkes tomorrow.
Thanks for your interest all.

I have two bags available for free / for a forum donation:
1 - Royal Mail bag 44 x 38cm - dusty but all good (unwanted gift from a mate that got it as a prop for some TV work)
2 - North face basecamp (XL?) - 50 x 40cm. big enough to fit an A3 folder, padded laptop sleeve, quick release strap, it's set up for right shoulder but easy enough to switch it over. Shoulder pad included and is unused, the bag is pretty battered but still does the job. lid straps expand a long way, I've strapped all sorts to it before including tables and bikes.
Collect from Leytonstone E11 or I can post in the UK for a fiver each.

I'm planning to move to South London - Peckham, East Dulwich, Nunhead or thereabouts in the next couple of months. I've only even lived north of the river before. Does anyone have any recommendations for lettings agents that aren't awful to deal with? A pal has recommended Roy Brooks (however they used them as an agent when they were selling up). Also if anyone has a 1 bed flat available soon let me knowww.....

They’ve provided a special reference number to pass on to insurers or a solicitor and I have asked if they can confirm which offences exactly were listed on the NIP (because I’m curious).
It sounds like next steps depend on whether or not they hear from the owner (who has 28 days to respond to the NIP) and whether or not they declare that the owner was driving or nominate someone else. If it’s someone else another NIP is issued and they have a further 28 days to respond.
If I don’t hear from the officer after 28 days since the first NIP was issued I’ll give them a nudge.

Thank you @Constable_Savage and @Oliver Schick. I did some chasing, first by emailing an officer who I had corresponded with in relation to a different incident a few years ago. They then referred me to the unit that likely would be investigating, and eventually I had a very helpful conversation with someone who could access the report and investigation info.
Turns out, the investigating officer issued a NIP on the 24th November and for whatever reason this wasn't communicated to me. I have an email address and phone number for them now if I want any further updates.
Interestingly, during my efforts to chase this up I was assured that even if the 14 days have elapsed they can issue a different form instead of a NIP(...?)

How is everyone getting on with response times at the moment? Has anyone heard back after the 10 working days mentioned on the met website?
I was walloped in a hit and run on the 23rd November. I reported it over the phone at the scene, and later completed an online submission that day when I got home from hospital with plenty of footage.
I haven't heard anything since, despite requests for an update. If I remember correctly the police have a limited amount of time to issue a notice of intended prosecution after the incident, is that right? Is it possible it's taking longer because I listed quite a lot of complaints eg. driver was (probably) speeding, ran a red light, hit me, failed to stop, vehicle did not have an MOT?

asthmatics with concerns about covid19: I very much recommend calling 0300 222 5800 and speaking to one of the asthma nurses at asthmauk. i did it yesterday and we talked through my asthma history, what I should be doing (in terms of isolating etc), and what i should ask my GP for - if anything. it was very reassuring.
in my case i am to request a peak flow meter and a course of oral steroids from my GP, the peak flow meter will indicate any drop in performance should i get sick. if my scores to 60% of my usual score then i am to crack open the steroids on top of my usual blue/brown lungbag combo. every case is different, though and 'asthma' covers a broad specturm so i would urge everyone who is worried to seek advice specific to them.
I've had a pm from user125999 who has arranged for a friend to collect this evening. I'll let you know if they decide to pull out
