I've never flown with a bike before so hoping to get some anecdotal or even well-informed advice..
I make techy sculptures and I want to transport one on a flight in the coming weeks. A hard bike travel case is the perfect size for this thing. Is it likely to get held up at the airport? I'm imagining airline security looking at the X-ray of what is obviously a bike travel case and seeing it full of industrial looking power supplies and radiators and fans and so on and holding it up.
Any thoughts appreciated!

HI the short answer is no, I gave up.. I had some limited success by asking people on our street to fill out the hanger request form, and we did get a cycle hanger installed on our street (not sure if we caused it or if it was in the works already) but I'm now 17th or something on the waiting list for that one..
In the meantime I bolted a big ring behind our hedge and have been parking there. ADAPT

We live in a small flat in Southwark, and the single worst thing about living here is bringing bikes through the house to the garden every day (at least we have the garden, ofc). I've requested a hangar installed (https://cyclehangarsinsouthwark.commonplace.is/comments) but my faith in UK governance is at an all time low..
How possible would it be to buy my own bikehangar and bolt it to the street outside my house? Are there any bits of pavement that are privately owned? Has anyone ever found a way to (ethically) shortcut the existing bikehangar waiting lists?
Thx
