Looking for a bike for a friend. Also would be fine with just a frame.
They are 6ft and looking for something made of steel with disc brake capabilities and the space for tyres >32c. Something like an old Norco Search or similar. Budget for full bike is around £400. Based in London but can travel a bit to collect!
Let me know if anyone has anything suitable.
Cheers, Ross -

All I want to do is put a disc tab on the back, would put one on the fork too but not sure it would be up to it. So will replace the fork with something 26 disc with braze-on mounts for cages.
Mayyyybe would try to crimp the stays for a little extra tyre clearance.
If you look back to pg.1 it has already had both seat and chainstays replaced by Geoff Roberts, otherwise it would still have a U Brake on the rear... -

The Terra Runner shredded through a pair of pads in 3 days in The Gower last week, and was barely braking on steep wet descents even with XTR m950 V-Brakes, which are very reliable in the dry (suffice to say it was a deluge).
Every time I take it bikepacking I am amazed at how well it copes with gnarly, chunky descents. However I think if I am to keep it I need to weld on a disc brake mount to the rear of the frame and get a new disc-compatible fork.
I am also fed up with the terrible shifting of the bottom pull to top pull converted front mech, and generally prefer using the 1x11 setups on my hardtail or cargo bike.
This would mean a pretty hefty overhaul of the Terra Runner:
Brakes, Drivetrain, Wheels, Fork. The other option would be to buy a more modern burly bikepacking frame (Kona Unit X, Big Bro etc) and build it up. This would have the benefit of a more modern geometry which will be better for descending, bigger tyre clearances (Koga juuuuust fits 2.25") and more bolt ons for cages etc.
So what should I do, stick or twist?

Testing the waters, got a Rollei AFM 35 that I will be looking to sell soon (Same camera as Fuji Klasse)
Really good condition apart from a bit of burring on the battery hatch door thing.
Shoots amazing photos! Mad sharp. One of the newest film compacts as well so hopefully one of the last to die hahaSelling because my Ricoh GRi is just too easy to take everywhere and shoot, don't end up using the Rollei like I used to.
Probably after around £400
