If I put my finger under the top race/nut and rock the bike forward against its brake I can feel there is play there.

I will perhaps take it apart again to check on the bearing placement - but I'm fairly sure that wouldn't be the issue

Any experience with the headsets on look KG233 frames? I fitted a standard 1 inch headset and no matter how tight I do it up (even so I can't turn the handlebars...) there's still a bit of play...

Here's mine. Just finished it this week and got the first 150km done at the weekend. All very nice. Frame purchased off LFGSS too.
It is part of a larger project - I've had a Felt F5 for a couple of years and feel the desire to upgrade wheels, groupset, stem, bars... so thought I'd have a go at building (and learning to build) a frame up from scratch by using some old and some new components to satisfy the n+1 rule.
Maybe not the most classic of LOOKing Looks, but fun and good looking nonetheless (I think)

As far as I know there should be no reason why a 10 speed shouldn't fit either, then? The width isn't any different...

I will try again - perhaps it just needs a bit of persuasion, though it seems odd that it might.

Yep, the seller did say 130mm when I bought it.
However, at first attempt I have struggled to fit my rear wheel in to the drop outs. (It's a pretty basic Mavic CXP 22 on Felt hubs that came on another bike a couple of years back). The front wheel is fine in terms of fit.

I wondered whether anyone else had any experience with these frames?
