Hi there,
planning on doing some fairly light touring from Würzburg Germany down the Via Claudia Augusta into Austria and Italy, ride up the Stelvio and then cross Switzerland. Planning on taking the train back to Germany from Interlaken or Basel. Duration will be around 10 days. I will try to camp mostly (if my setup works) and ride around 100-150km a day. The route up until the Stelvio is pretty straightforward. Following the old Roman trade route "Via Claudia" over the Fernpass and the Reschenpass and then take a right and go over the Stelvio into Switzerland. That is where it will get tricky (apart from getting up the Stelvio first, of course). Looking for some routes through Switzerland (from east to west).
I'd be glad to take some route suggestions or if anyone wants to tag a long for a while, let me know. Will be post some photos of the bike setup (and the trip eventually) as the planning is moving along. Will probably set off second week of august or so.
cheers

It shouldnt be of concern as the BSA adapter should work with any threaded bb made for that type really but I feel like it could be a SRAM gxp only problem. As the new gxp brackets have a kind of limiter inside the nds cup. Meaning that the cup limits the spindle from getting through completely to ensure that the crank does not rub against the drive side bb cup (I hope any one gets where I am going). As you screw the nds crankarm on to the spindle you apply force that may eventually lead the whole adapter/cups/spindle bricolage to shift in place. Through the limiter, the spindle pushes out the whole bb cup and adapter on the nds and the driveside crankarm all of a sudden sits closer to the driveside cup causing (in my case) chainring bolts to rub. Should not be of concern with shimano I recon as you only preload spindle on nds side with the little plastic screw thingy and then clamp the nds crankarm. Also, hollowtech 2 bb does not have some sort of stupid limiter built in..... dont know - PF30 sucks! This frame with 27,2mm seatpost inner and threaded bb would be a dream! cheers

Sorry, I forgot about the pic until I did a ride on friday. noticed some rubbing coming from the crank/bb area. chainring bolts were rubbing on the driveside chainstay because the limiter of the gxp bb could not hold the spindle back and in its place (hope that makes sense). It turned out the nds of the sram adapter was pushed out a little. pushed it back in (with tools) and everything is in its place again but cant tell if it stays there as I havent been able to test it afterwards. Just wanted to confirm your issue with loose cup!

187cm with longish legs. I was kind of inbetween sizes so went for the smaller frame. Stem on this photo is 120mm. Might change to a shorter one as handlebar reach + sram hydro shifters makes this quite long. Bike is kind of heavy when picking it up but it does feel fairly fast while riding. Will be touring the Alps on it this summer and may get some 650b wheels for some off road action if funds allow later this year.
Build it up! Looking forward to it.

Just looked at that project. Paint looks awesome. Funny, as I ordered the same frame yesterday after discovering it a while ago on CNC. Too cheap not to try it out. Probably as some gravelly 700c or 650b randonneur. Considering Carbon fork and hydro sram 1x. Can you make any guesses on bb drop ?

Couldnt really figure out if you are set on a frame yet:

Really road oriented though. But it fits long and low (553/393) category and is kind of cheap.
