Its very light, packable, 100% waterproof, very very breathable (Amazingly so). I gave most of the winter miles wearing it over a long sleeve jersey. Sizing wise its a race fit being very snug on the torso & with a little bit of room on the arms.
Overall it really is an excellent jacket & definatly the new standard in light rain jackets. -

I have both. Before I purchased the shadow I wondered how it compared to the Gabba. Well ... the gabba is a jacket & the shadow is a jersey. Shadow is lighter, more breathable & 100% waterproof even after several hours in torrential rain. Its not especially warm but has been comfortable on tempo efforts with a base layer to 7 degrees. Lower & wetter than that Ive worn the insulated gillet over it & its been absolutlt perfect.

Seems to be the same material as the hardshell. Looks very similar to the hard shell with the zippered dropped tail of the city jacket but with underarm ventilation zips. Good idea. Special edition looks especially good. Pity it doesn't have a discreet reflective stripe or 2 across the back & front.

Spot-on. I bought a new PTRC but just couldn't bring myself to cut the sleeves... however I got one with the sleeves cut at the tape (Elbow) on EBay. The cut sleeve one is perfect on warm but wet days / races. Keeps body properly dry & breezy. Folds up & goes in the back pocket where a gabba won't when the sun comes out again.

The opinions of the Decathlon Peloton are a bit irrelevant really.... They generally fall into two groups:
1) Never had quality gear & don't know what they are missing/talking about (I.e. Cows talking about motorbikes).
2) Don't need it (On their once weekly club spin / 5 mile commute). As for all this malarky about rapha/expensive gear guys getting passed by hero in lidl's finest, The front bunch of any decent race isn't populated by the gregarieos of the Decathlon Peloton.
Long hours of training is hard enough (Especially in winter) without making it some kind of survival test. 5 hours a week commuting around Leeds (For example) is hardly the true test of whether Rapha/Assos is value for money or not...... Ive been to dhb / shitkit & its not a pretty spot.... -
