I’ll try and get there to check them out. Spending one day in the big smoke tomorrow, lived up there for almost 20 years before moving back down to Devon so visits are few and far between. If I can take in a shop or two I’ll be like a kid in a candy shop.
If you don’t mind me asking, which make of knives did you get?

Buying in to this world opens up a whole other load of spending. Will definitely need to up my sharpening game with whatever the best method or device I’ll need. New chopping board, and of course a nice new wall mounted wooden magnetic knife strip to replace my cheap Ikea metal one. I could easily go overboard with all this which pushes the budget no end.

I’ve done a bit of reading about the different options. I’ve got a set of knives I’ve had for about 20 years including a chefs knife, both a full size and small Santoku. I always tend to gravitate towards either Santoku depending what I’m using it for, the chefs knife barely gets used so it’s a case of sticking to what I like.
I’m vegetarian so I reckon the three types I’ve decided on will cover all my needs.

After lusting for I don’t know how long my wife has given me the go ahead to get some Japanese kitchen knives. I’ve got a budget of about up to £120 per knife which I know is not much in the grand scheme of these type of things but hopefully it’s a start.
Can any of the aficionados on here offer up any good suggestions. Probably will settle on a Santoku (mini or full size), Nakiri and a Petty knife. Also are there any shops around central London people recommend I can go into to get a good feel.

Two frames to go starting with an Argos branded frame but don't know what the original make is, I'll look for the serial number later to see if that helps. Update on serial number, it starts with A then there are four numbers that I can’t make out then ends with G so it stamped like
A **** G but I guess that’s not much help. Size 56.5 ST 56 TT. Columbus Gara tubing.Again its in a less than perfect condition but it's prime for a rebuild. Comes with everything you see in the picture, Campagnolo groupset, Profile bars, Tioga stem, Tahoma seat post and the wheels are only on for the purpose of the photo but I can throw them in for a bit extra if needed. The gearing system will need a good service. Hoping for £90

Lastly is the no name track frame. Rattled can matte black 51.5 ST 55 TT. The frame that got me riding fixed and it was a very sturdy reliable ride. Will come with Genesis carbon forks plus the original ones and as pictured the stem and seat post. Looking for *£30

Frames are all located in Archway for viewings/collections. Any questions ask away.
I've also got a thread for some parts which I have just done some price drops if anything is of interest

Has anyone had experience from ordering from Cleancut? I am drawn to the Kamo knives they have so probably going to go for them. Trying to work out what sort of customs fees I’ll have to pay if I order a couple in one go. The total will be over the £135 cut off limit for customs fees but can’t work out from anywhere what extra costs I’ll be looking at.
Think getting them as two separate orders might be cheaper despite the two postage costs, at least that way I’ll only be paying VAT and shouldn’t be any customs fees on top.
