Hey, 300 miles on the road there, then up and down mountain. On a Surly Straggler. (No luggage on the mountain!). Camping on the way. Something a bit different!
Yep aware on the 10am thing, will be a cracking place to watch the sunrise! fully expecting a fair amount of pushing on the way up! Been mountain biking all over for 20 years so should be OK coming down fingers crossed!

Hello,
Off on a trip to Snowdon this week (from Portsmouth) to ride there, up the mountain then back down.
Question, tyres. I've got the Surly Knards for the mountain, wondering whether its better to a) ride the whole 300 miles there on the road on the knards, saving the weight of the tyres (around a kg), or b) stick on some slicker tyres and carry the knards (adding the extra kg). Already fairly loaded with bags, anything cages etc so space shouldn't be an issue. I'm thinking as the bikes carrying the luggage, will it really make much difference the tyre tread as will be going at slower speeds?
thoughts?

Hello,
Pair of Rock'n'Roads from Bruce Gordon (Made by Panaracer). Had them shipped over from USA. Done about 100 miles or so, in near perfect nick'.
Selling as sadly they don't fit on my new CX frame, so not much use for me :(
They're about £40 each + International shipping new, so selling them for £55 posted for the pair. That lovely South Downs mud has been brushed off by the way!
700 x 43's. Details as below :

I was the builder (its incredibly satisfying the first ride on a bike you made with your own hands!) under the watchful eye of Pete Bird and Rob Wade at Swallow bikes. (http://www.bicycles-by-design.co.uk/about-us), painted at Argos.
Haven't really got many other photos other than the one below which shows the paint a little better. (only been on the one ride, been away mountaineering).
Parts wise, Thomson stem / seat post, Concor Saddle, Ultegra brakes, FSA Headset (to be replaced by a Chris King in due course), Sugino Pista Chainset (To be replaced when I find a black chainset that I like a lot - suggestions welcome!), Grand Prix Classics on V-Sprint Wheels (to be replaced when I find a hub / rims I really like and get around to building).

Hi All,
Has anyone found a bag that fits nicely in a Wald 137 basket? Waterproof preferrably. I'm using a pdw takeout bag at the mo, but its a bit to small and not really the right shape. Looking for something that fits just so.
Thanks!
