Sounds good, I'll certainly consider giving them a shot if I get sick of the X-Kings.
Stem wise, you might find a bit of rise also helps, I picked up a shorter stem with a 30deg rise when I was running the flat bars, certainly improved the reach. This is what I bought: http://www.wiggle.co.uk/ritchey-comp-30-degree-stem/

Nice! How do you find the Big Apples? I had some Halo Twin Rails on for a week or so but went back to the X-Kings.
I also kind of had the same plans as you, I managed to pick up some Versa Alfine 11 shifters from the forum and was going to get some Salsa Cowchipper bars, instead I've actually just fitted some Jones H-Bar Bend clones by Humpert, they were super cheap and they feel pretty good: -

Hey folks, my Genesis Croix de Fer is up for sale, a good solid workhorse ideal for those rotten winter commutes. I'm based around Earlham Road if any local folks are interested in taking a look: http://www.lfgss.com/conversations/273489/#comment12480639

Genesis Croix de Fer, 2012 model in Reynolds 725. Various marks on the paint here and there, but in overall good condition. Has served me well commuting over several winters and is a really comfortable ride. I had some H+Son Archetypes on Hope hubs built by Gav at August Wheelworks, with Conti Gatorskins and full length SKS mudguards. I also swapped out the crap Shimano brakes for some Avid BB7 MTN callipers. Comes with the original Alex Rims wheels plus Conti CX tyres, and a set of Schwalbe studded winter tyres. I've also fitted some Shimano M324 pedals so you can either ride clipless or in regular shoes. Does not come with the Brooks saddle pictured but I'll supply a Charge Spoon in brown.
Looking for £600, based in Norwich. I'm also open to trades on an MTB, ideally looking for a Genesis Fortitude Adventure or something similar.

Hey folks, I've got a Halo Double Fix-G splined hub up for sale, has been laced to a rim before but removed straight away after a change in requirements, so has had no use. It's in a silver finish and is the 32h version. Has splines on either side so you can run two different fat foot cogs. Retails for £80 but looking for £60. Based in Norwich, but happy to post.
