Vintage Dayton Amalgam Elite frameset circa 1950 - nice old frame and classic fluted forks, which come with headset, bottom bracket and chainring. 57cm ctt. The brass head badge is included. £90 collection in Greenwich SE10 or thereabouts.

Nice old Dutch town bicycle - upright 57cm frame, 26" wheels, balloon tyres, back pedal brake, kickstand, pannier rack,Torpedo rear hub (gears disconnected, so it's single speed). Bit of a wobble on the front wheel, but can be ridden as is. £60 or thereabouts. Collection in Greenwich SE10 8UU, near the Station.

Thanks - looks younger though, possibly having later braze-ons. The number on the (A&P) steerer tube matches. Is the shape of the forks and crown a Sun characteristic?

Frame number question: anyone know what marque used the prefix AK plus 4 digits? In this case the reference no is AK1520, situated underneath the bottom bracket.

"A Boy a Girl and a Bike"(1949) about to start on Talking Pictures TV: lots of shots of club rides over Yorkshire hill and dale. Not much of a plot, but the machines are great and Honor Blackman and Diana Dors are members of the club in their fetching short shorts.

Finney was brilliant as Arthur Seaton - great shots of the old Raleigh factory in that film.

A "quote" out of context, produced by a rat-journalist from The Times, who's proud to have the defenestration of Hoddle on his cv; and I'm less inclined than you to side with opportunistic politicians from Tony Blair downwards, who jumped on the bandwagon and effected Hoddle's dismissal from the England job. And because of all that crap, people like you think that he's not entitled to sympathy and respect when he's poorly. Nice.

Manufacturer based in Lyons - made sewing machines, arms and cycles Reinor, Chimere, and Omega. Presumably the cycle would be badged as one of those. The date seems there or thereabouts -the bottom bracket shell resembles the BSA type in general use up to the late 20s.
