Fair enough. I need to decide on hubs for the TB14's - keep changing my mind depending on how much money I am willing to spend at the point in the month (it decreases in a straight line from pay day).

@ Danstuff - rebuilding my steel merckx corsa 01 with modern Campag 11 speed (silver Athena). No wheels purchaed yet but if you have some spare 11-speed compatible wheels that you wanted turning into lira I might be interested. I was thinking of getting some TB14's built up but its not a cheap solution.

I think only Athena come is silver but if anyone happens to have a set gathering dust please drop me a line.

Not sure what the scientists recommend but for me it would be a low intensity ride for as long as possible - you need endurance not sprint speed. Then it's good food and sleep and stay of the booze until 1-minute after the ride is done.

Eat regularly, sit on his wheel except when going up hill (ride these at your own speed) and let them wait at the top. If he is buddy he will adjust pace to make sure you don't blow up.

A loop with a shortcut / bail out point home is useful if you do blow up but 1oo is very doable.

Are the Athena shifters still available? Also. how many miles has the Campag cassette done?

Thinking of selling my On One Pompetamine. It is a medium, in blue and runs an alfine 8-speed internal hub and disk brakes. Was thinking of listing at about £250 / £300 but wanted to check if this was about right.
