Ok I have a couple of Dolan PreCursas and on one of them I put a DF4 fork on that I had. The rake went from 35mm to 30mm so I suspected it'd would be more stable (as it has more trail). The bikes are the same aside from having different stems - 100mm on the stock PC and I think 120mm on the DF4 forked one.
In fact the bike feels a lot more twitchy than a stock Pre Cursa. Never really ride them back to back, but did the other day and they were worlds apart. Can't really fathom why, the only thing I can come up with the axle to crown length - on a stock fork Dolan say it's 360mm, and a DF4 fork is supposedly 300mm (I've not measured them). Would this affect the steering?
It's not a huge problem, just was curious why there was such a difference.

Oops posted this in the wrong forum, so reposting here.
I'm selling an 'Oval Concepts' carbon fibre track fork. I bought this for a project I was working on but in the end didn't use it. It has been professionally painted plain black and is in 100% perfect condition. It's not drilled for brakes and is for 700C wheels. It features vents built into the fork which supposedly reduce the drag of the front wheel.
I'm after £120 inc. P&P ono (collection possible but I'm up in Middlesbrough!) -

Yep it's a Pre Cursa. I quite like how the PC rides so have been using that, I know it's nothing overly fancy but it's good enough for me. I swapped the fork out on this one for a wing pista - not for any other reason than I liked the sound of my trispoke in it. Almost certainly is less efficient than the original fork which was silent but it makes a pleasing 'whomp whomp whomp' sound as the wheel goes round. The rake is slightly different (can't remember if its more or less) but to be honest I've not noticed a difference in handling or anything like that on the track.
Oh and I'm not a giant :P The angle of the picture makes the seat look far higher than it actually is!

Ah just someone I know locally. Four other riders in my team like the colour so much they're all getting their track bikes painted to match! Cheaper/easier to do a few bikes at the same time so I'm going to get my road bike painted as well :P
If you really wanted it the same colour you're welcome to bring your bike up and add it to the batch :-P

I've managed to lose one of the track bolts so its not quite ready for action yet. I'd forgotten how difficult it is to fit those Miche cranks into a Dura Ace bottom bracket. Does anyone know what bottom bracket would be easier to get the cranks into for future reference? My phone is a bit rubbish but I'm borrowing a friends camera to get some better pictures later. The coloured paint was painted over a black base. The bars are just 3t Scatto's painted gloss black. Oh the lettering is metallic silver, doesn't really show up well on the photo. Finishing kit is Zipp SL aluminium stuff. It currently has an under saddle mount but I'm going to remove that as I've not found anyway to record speed with those wheels annoyingly - which is what I was hoping to get.
Axle-crown measurement is the same when I checked it.
I wonder if the longer stem putting more weight on the front wheel makes it less stable then. I'm at the velodrome tomorrow so might try a shorter stem.
