I roadsafed a driver entering an ASL, just to see whether it's worth it.
The responder said even though it shows the violation they would not pursue it as the chance of prosecution was so low.Is this because you can't see that the light is red in the video, or do you think the response just code for "we can't be bothered"?

I'm trying to suppres my cynicism about this. Quietly hopeful that cycle awareness courses could become widespread.
Obviously, crazy left field measures like "have enough police officers to enforce existing laws" have been omitted, but we can't have everything.

I'm always baffled by drivers' accounts of cyclist altercations being so terrifying. You're in a big metal box. If you were genuinely scared you wouldn't get out. It always smells to me of "I felt like a big man behind the wheel, but when I got out my dick suddenly shrank".
Anyway, both parties have managed to come away looking like proper knobs. Two thumbs up guys.

Don't have a clue who this Bevan chap is. You see I've just picked an arbitrary middle ground, rather than seeking to understand various political views and deciding for myself where I stand. Thanks for your input though. Must rush off. I've got to get my Superdry jacket on and drive my Nissan Quashquai to a suburban BBQ.

It's not the throwing of shade that bothers me, it's the weird backward logic that moderates willing to accept pragmatic compromise for the sake of making progress are somehow fratonising with the enemy. Moderates being anyone who doesn't immediately shout "Gammon" when a centre-right argument is given. It drowns out all sensible debate on a subject.

The Centrist Dad meme, or more specifically the way it has now widened to include anyone with political views to the right of Lennin.
Actually all political tribalism like this is pretty lame, but let's start with this one*.*May be linked to the fact that I'm a dad with broadly centre-left political views.
The whole situation is very complicated for sure. She didn't become a terrorist's wife by accident after all. She apparently holds some pretty horrible views and has clearly made some awful decisions, not least of all trying to raise two children in a war zone. How much blame you can attribute to her versus the many people who have been influencing her I don't know.
I can't say I'd be happy to see her at the school gate, but I'm not sure it could be considered justice to ban her from the UK either.
