Hi,
I am looking for a vertical bike stand to store a couple of bikes in a flat, hopefully without the need to make holes in the walls.I am thinking of something like this Gravity wall stand:
http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/gear-up-lean-machine-gravity-rack/rp-prod50398Or this topeak:
http://www.evanscycles.com/products/topeak/two-up-stand-ec033815If anyone is thinking about selling something like this, I'll be happy to buy it.
Thanks.

Well it feels a bit small, but I'm not sure how it should feel really. Based on my measures, some charts recommend a 54, other a 56. The langster one is just right in the middle of both sizes.
These are my measures:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/4mzszroszj523v4/measures.jpgThese are the competitiveCyclist bike size calculator recommendations:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/nazp6ssxwom1ity/frame%20sizes.jpgAnd this is the geometry of the Langster:
http://www.specialized.com/gb/gb/bikes/road/langster/langster#geometryBased on that I should get a 58! Which there's no way it's right.
For a 54, I'm surprised that the frame has 500cm C-T. So in general, the frames seem smaller than in other geometries.Any other people with a langster 2014 out there?
Thanks!

I'm always getting the name of it wrong but it looks like the knock off magnum that many places sell. There's no way it will count as a decent primary lock for this thread, and it won't even come close to the security of the fagh mini, but if you go and look at it you can decide for yourself whether the thickness of the steel corresponds enough to the likely risk. At that price I'm guessing the shackle is 12-14mm thick.
That's what I thought, but it is listed in the first post of this thread, second on the list! Hence my surprise.

So I'm looking at this bike:
http://www.evanscycles.com/products/specialized/langster-2014-track-bike-ec053036
The thing is that the only available size is a 54cm. I am 5.10''(178cm), and the guy in the shop measured me (inner leg length), and made some calculations (don't know what exactly) and the number was 55.8, suggesting my size is closer to a 56cm.
It is the first track bike I've ever tried, and i know that in general track bikes are quite compact and small, and I think that with the saddle a bit high I can ride it fine, but I'm afraid of regretting getting a slightly smaller sized bike.
Is there a massive difference in 2cm size? Have you regretted getting a smaller bike?
Thanks!

I'm after a new lock.
Right now I have an Evo Mini 7, weighting 1.6 kg, and I'm used to carry it around.
New bike, new lock, so I went through the list of the recommended ones, and I'm surprised to see this one:
Asakiltt Shackle Lock [Mod.31-2166][16mm?] () £16.99
http://www.clasohlson.com/uk/Asaklitt-Shackle-Lock/Pr312166000At a 1/4 of the price of the Fahgettaboudit Mini, and almost 0.5 kg lighter.
Surprisingly a search for Asakiltt does not return results in the forum.
Is that the primary lock of any of you? Thanks.

No, you're right, you can. But like incest and country dancing, just because you can doesn't always mean you should :-)
I think on most hubs it's fine, but on some the fixed hub has fewer threads. It depends on the hub, though. If I were buying a bike new I'd want to just get a fixed/free hub in the first place instead of fannying about worrying over whether the freewheel was ok or not. But, y'know, that's me, other people don't mind so much.
The genesis you linked is really nice, but I bit over my budget.
To add something else to the confusion, I just found that in the specialised website, the langster is listed as having a flip-flop. No idea if there are any differences with the langster they sell in Evans:

The wheelset is not flip-flop, you only get one 17t track cog. Yes, the on one cog will be fine. You can get a 20t freewheel cog, they're just not that common as people are massive blouses about spinning. The polo players of the forum will likely be able to suggest a good place to pick one up. You'll regret getting a track bike if you want to run a flip-flop hub. I ride a Langster and it's great, but I ride one of the models that came out before Specialized went full-on tracktrastic, so mine has a flip-flop hub with a freewheel on one side. If I were buying a new bike now I'd probably go for a Fuji Feather or a Charge Plug instead purely for the freewheel option.
Brilliant, thanks a lot!.
So having only one cog, can it still be a freewheel, or does it accept only fixed track ones? It's a shame that that you need to choose only one:(
Unfortunately in evans don't have the Fuji feather on my size, and I'm tied to the ride to work schema with them.
What about the Fuji 2.1 track? it is a bit flashy for my taste, and some reviews out there complain about some details, but I could live with that... Is that one any good? And does it come with a flip flop hub?Cheers!

Hi all,
I am gathering loads of info from the forum, but I have a couple of questions abour a specific model that I can't find anything about... I am posting them here as I can't create any new thead just yet. I hope that's alright.
I am thinking of getting this bike:
http://www.evanscycles.com/products/specialized/langster-2014-track-bike-ec053036However, I am using now a semi destroyed old SS, in a 42x16 setup (had to count the teeth, I never needed to know this before:) )and with a recent injury in my knee, I am considering something slightly lighter.
The new bike comes with a 48x17 setup, so using Sheldon's brown calculator (hey, a few days ago I didn't know who he was, or what a gear ratio was!!!!!), I am thinking of swapping the sproket for a 19T or even try with a 20T and then move slowly up.The wheelset is AXIS Classic Track Fixed Wheel, but I can;t find any info about the rear hub.
- Can anyone confirm if the hub that comes with it is a flip-flop? I've read contradictory opinions in several places.
- Also, can someone confirm that the threaded is standard 1.375x24TPI , so I could use something like this: http://www.planetx.co.uk/i/q/SKOOCHRTC18/on-one-cnc-chromoly-screw-on-track-cog-1-8in ??
- Assuming it is a flip-flop in the end, I would like to add a freewheeler as well, although finding 20T free wheel sprockets seems difficult, whereas a 16 or 17 can be found anywhere. Why is that? are they not standard? Am I missing something?
-And last but not least, If someone has a good or bad opinion about this bike, I would love to hear any comments.
Thanks a lot in advance!!!!
You guys have built an amazing community! - Can anyone confirm if the hub that comes with it is a flip-flop? I've read contradictory opinions in several places.
