Thanks - yeah - good spot -just to go with the Columbus main frame tubes - Chas said that a 953 fork would be better than Columbus equivalent tubing so went for that and it didn't come with a fork badge - had a spare pair of Columbus transfers so used them to finish - still not sure it needs them ? - but can't make my mind up !!

here is mine - I must have had one of the last frames Chas made - Columbus Spirit main tubes with Reynolds 953 forks - 6 degree drop on top tube - frame number 140904. Chris King headset, Campag super record and record 11 speed mix, Fizik stem and bars with Antares saddle and seatpost, Vision carbon (tubs) wheelset, Vittoria tyres - rides soooo nice I've relegated my carbon Genesis to my hack

Will be putting a tourer together and will set up with disc wheels as will be doing a lot in Alps and Pyrennes so will be doing a lot of descending.
Looking at DT swiss R24 splines - any better recommend for around similar price - first move into roadbike with disc stoppers so recommends appreciated

why is changing bits such a drug - wasn't going to upgrade to 11 but then bit the bullet as you can get away without changing the crankset - soooo - refitted Rotor 3D crankset with Q rings and upgraded to super record ergo's, record rear and front mech with record calipers and put it on Shamals with Veloflex master 23mm rubber- very pleased with result - rides even better now ::) :)

you're probably right - might be why Chas went for 953 as I wanted straight polished forks like on my Colnago Master
