But that was great.

Me and my mate helped one guy out wh crashed in the road, unless there was more than one? I didn't see it happen but my mate said it looked pretty bad. Lent him a tool and helped fix his bike, gave him a cidre (stella) and sent him on his way.

Seemed ok, a bit shaken, but no visible signs of damage.

Has anybody done this route recently? Was planning on doing it in the next couple of days and was interested to know what it was like. I'll be riding fixed 48x16 which served me pretty well on the ride to Dunwich.

Seeing as people are doing lists, and I love doing lists, here's what I ate:

Homemade flapjack with peanut butter, honey, banana, dried apricots / prunes / assorted fruit x 8 slices
Bread roll x 1
Soup x 1 cup
Coffee x 1 cup
Banana x 2
Maoam x lots
Dextrose things x 4 for extra funs at the end
Bacon roll x 1
Fry up x 1
Beer x 3
And lots of nuuns.

Could probs have done with less, but I eat a helluva lot when I'm not doing anything, so just about par for the course I reckon.

Also, Clockwise, was good to meet you buddy. Hope you managed to get rid of those gels!

Thank you to any and all of the volunteers from the forum who helped make it such a great ride, it was my first time and I really didn't know what to expect. I didn't see the pot hole thank god, but we did manage to help out a dude who had a flat and didn't have the pit lock to take his wheel off!

Went with a bunch of friends of different abilities so it was quite a relaxed affair. This meant that I had the legs to beast the last 15 miles, which was great. Thanks to the rider (Kanute?) who kept on pushing me forward. Never done a 15 mile dash before, but that was awesome.

Swim. Breakfast. Beer. Breakfast. Beer and sleep. What a great ride.
